At a glance
The current Alcove iPhone beta does not require an account. Your Library and reading activity stay on this iPhone, and Alcove does not upload them.
Alcove does not include analytics, advertising, or trackers.
What stays on this iPhone
Your saved links and titles, downloaded article files, reading position, completion state, and reading activity are stored locally on your iPhone.
Alcove does not operate a cloud account or synchronization service in this beta.
Fetching saved web pages
When you save, open, or prepare a web page for offline reading, Alcove fetches it directly from the original website.
That website receives ordinary network request information, such as your IP address and standard request headers, and handles it under its own privacy policy. Alcove does not use a remote service to fetch those pages for this beta.
When Alcove opens an original website, its embedded web view uses Apple’s default persistent website-data store. The website may set cookies or other website data on this iPhone. Alcove does not use that website data for analytics or advertising. This beta has no separate in-app website-data clearing control; removing Alcove from the iPhone removes data held in Alcove’s app container.
Feedback
Feedback sharing begins only when you choose Share Beta Feedback in Alcove. The system share sheet is editable, and you choose whether and where to send it.
Alcove does not collect or save that feedback in the app. If you choose another app or service as the destination, its own privacy terms apply.
Backups and exports
Back Up Library creates an Alcove backup, and Export CSV creates a spreadsheet file. You choose when to create them and where to share or save them.
Alcove does not upload either export. After you share a file, the destination you choose controls its storage and handling.
Deleting your data
For one item, choose Delete from Library in that item’s menu. For several items, choose Select Items, select the items, then use the Delete action showing the selected count.
Deleting items also removes those items’ downloads and local reading history from this iPhone.
